Missing Pieces Shouldn't Matter

It's all in your hands,  right from the start From the moment you were born, To your very last  Stop and look up, once in a while Admire the little things that light up your life  It's these moments in between,  That matter in the end Forget what's lost, forget what never was Forget the missing piece, you've been searching for From the moment you were born To your very last From your very first cry,  To when you close your eyes one final time, The littlest things, that happen between The joy you give, the hell you receive Is the life you'll live, the life that means everything

Black & Blue

There were colours everywhere For a while, they shone bright Then there was only one left,  One that was never on my mind  No, this isn't what I thought I'd have The darkest blue, that fades to black Feels worse than it sounds But I'll polish it till the sparkle is back A half-life on borrowed time Blinded by hope, there's love in sight All the strength, your sweet voice lends  To keep this going, till the tunnel ends  Till I see the light, have you by my side Everything wrong, that we'll make right, Give this a chance, live this different life One I didn't wish for, blue instead of bright

All You Once Were

You grasp at life, every chance you get,   The life you once had, Memories flashing in your head, Don't know what's left,  As you're trying to hold on, Holding on to the time that once was, Summoning all your strength,  Convincing yourself, It is not over yet.

Till She's Done

There, under the great dark sky Where fear lurks, and hearts die She walks through, With her head held high The truth, her face flawlessly hides. That blackened soul, and  distant mind, A river of insanity, those helpless sighs, But a mountain of hopes, Gathered strength,  All that makes her what she is... Soul, shredded to bits and pieces, Heart, Bound by lies. Hallow on the inside She feels numb And she's on the verge of giving up  But piece by piece she picks herself up, Heals her broken heart  Dives again in love, Only to have it  shattered again And again and again,  till there's nothing left. And then she lives on with her dead heart.

All in Her Head

She waited for that right time but it never came.  Poured her heart out, hoping the words would sustain What she'd felt all along, alas all in her head — That stupid girl built a castle, and then set it aflame! "It's okay..." said a voice inside her head.  "...as long as you keep it to yourself." "But how?" she asked, wondering how mad she was, Talking to herself – 'Gosh, this is insane,' she thought!  "Shh.. Just don't speak out,  keep it inside, Say what you must,  but under your breath,  And then 'lie' out loud,  And that way, nothing's left unsaid!" She'd already done part damage, But it wasn't something she still couldn't salvage. She'd just said how she really felt,  Nothing too much, it was just her heart, now hanging from the ledge... Feeling loved, but not much, Somewhat rejected, because it wasn't enough, She'd only followed ...

Till It Falls Through

My mind races as thoughts swirl through Like a sword through the heart it hurts While I restlessly wait for you  Aching to hear the comforting sound of your voice, and to feel your soft, caressing touch It feels wrong but I want to make it right Only to see where this is going I want to be selfish for a while. But is it worth what I'll lose—just because I can't control how I feel right now? And I feel I was better-off numb When I hadn't let you in But then I feel I couldn't have done much When you looked at me like you did I still don't know where this is going  But I want to give it the best I've got Because if I lose you now,  I know I'll regret not ever giving you a chance.

Doubting yourself?

There are times when we lack confidence. The reason isn't lack of ability, its the need for constant appreciation. The want of acceptance shadows over our minds, pushing any thread of confidence into a dark corner, and gives space to doubt. As a race, we humans are the most complex beings. In fact, we are so complicated that at times it is difficult for us to understand ourselves, let alone understanding others of our kind. However, it is this need for appreciation and want of acceptance that motivates us to do better, pushes us towards greatness. And sometimes, we need that shred of doubt or we may obliviously cross the fine line between confidence and over-confidence. But, doubting oneself too much too often, may start a series of reactions leading to complete and utter lack of confidence, thus scarring a perfectly capable individual for life (worst case scenario) and rendering them useless. So as far as it motivates, the need and want is positive. As soon as it starts to make...
