Life as we Know it

I often wonder.., Is it really so difficult to show what’s on one’s mind? What they really want? What they think of certain things? I’ve always been curious to know what others think. NO! Not about me. But in general, how they perceive certain things, May it be about the world or things like day to day life or relationships, or even a piece of music, or maybe even a painting… It does not have a psychological explanation. Some things are so connected to us but still somehow so out of bounds and unexplainable. Some things that we can’t have control over.
But is it really so hard to understand others? We can talk. Isn’t this fact supposed to make us superior to other species? Then why is it so that we are the most complicated beings in this world? Animals have tough lives, but their lives are still simpler and less complicated somehow…
Is it because everything good or better has worse consequences to it? Like if we talk about relationships, then mostly it’s been so that the one before always seems better even though it could’ve been our own decision to move on and might have seemed right at that time because things were imperfect or bad. And even if it’s not better, at least something would’ve been good about it… But we can’t know. No one can… Because no one can know how things would’ve been if we had chosen that other option that we always get. And no, it’s not so that in some cases there just aren’t any other options because there always is another way. We just have to be alert or sensible enough to see it.
Not just relationships, if we talk about technology or science, we find the cure for one fatal disease and we get two more to sought after, probably worse ones; we make breakthroughs like solar power or to be simpler, cars or normal daily life things that we now own, (which were obviously seen as science fictional toys at the time they weren’t so developed), each and every thing has its pros & cons.
Still, life goes on, but what bothers each one of us is that are things around us, our environment, surroundings, problems that we face every day, our situation with all the corruption, depleting resources, and what not to think of, is it all still worth sustaining the life that we are living? We deny it; keep it inside us for the fear of being humiliated for having such thoughts. What we forget is that no one can really know what we think unless we tell them. So back to square one, here we stand wondering what went wrong when all this while it’s only the communication gap that keeps us apart. Is there anything worth in this world to make us feel ashamed? Others have their secrets too, probably worse ones. Then what sort of a life are we living if it’s all about showing how we aren’t like them, how we are superior..? No! This is not what I choose. I choose to live my way. And let everyone know how I feel. Because end of the day, it’s my life, my decision that matters, later if I suffer, at least I’d be one to blame, no one else can then be blamed for what happened to me.
Not trying only because we feel it’s a risk, that’s not how things work, things work well when we make them happen. I have always been one of those who believe in fairy tales. Our life is one, only if we make believe so. We don’t need a fairy god mother to make us feel better, end of the day, it’s us and only us who can make that fairy tale come true. It doesn’t have to be that way; we don’t need to wave a wand to have a good life. We have to earn it. And then, when we have it, it may not be all that we had wanted, but we have to learn how to make the best of it. And that way, we can live the way we had always dreamed of. Things don’t come wrapped like a gift; it’s us who make it a gift. What’s the point of making others feel worse? Insulting, humiliating or simply being bad to others has never done anyone any good. It’s better to continue with our lives, and make the best out of what we have, still try to achieve more, and last but not the least, live every moment, enjoy it for what it is, and learn from it if it’s not one of those moments that you’d want to remember.
And that’s when our life is worth living, worth everything, worthy of being that perfect fairy tale that we want it to be.
